We are often asked to describe our work in Haiti and what God’s plans are for our ministry. We have learned over the years to not hold God’s plans captive to human decisions. We want to always be seeking God’s will and to discern how His work in Haiti will unfold.
As we minister to the people, we are faced daily with the reality that their suffering and needs run deep. One of our main burdens is how can we help children, many of whom are orphaned or at risk from the conditions we encounter?
We now know that God has called us to a greater and much better way, a kingdom approach to bringing His love to the children in Haiti and to its people.
Our ministry is kingdom focused. What do we mean by this?
We will follow and apply the teachings and life of our Lord Jesus as we build community with our neighbors and ministry partners. We will also bring the story of Haiti back to our brothers and sisters in the US, and throughout the world, to share with them how they can participate in this work.
The Gospel of the Kingdom, including the message of salvation, will blend with all of our work. Sometimes the good news of Jesus comes in the form of a meal, or a pair of shoes, or healing from an illness. Jesus came to save both spiritually and also in a real physical sense.
The good news that we share will be with Word followed by action.
The needs that we see are immense. We cannot do this alone. We will develop partnerships with churches, faith communities and others who desire to bring a sense of faith, peace, and hope to the people of Haiti.
Is God calling you to work beside us? We are planning mission team opportunities that can be custom tailored to the gifts and talents of your team’s members. These might include a building project, medical mission, feeding program, or ministering to children and villagers.
Please feel free to call us at our US office at (304) 266-8800 to discuss how
you can be a part of our work in Haiti.
